Thursday evening, June 16, 2016, 23 Caldwell County CERT members were treated to an excellent class taught by Paramedic and trainer, Trevor Key. We learned about the role CPR can play as a life-saving technique and some of the changes in recommended life-saving measures over the last few years. We practiced adult and infant CPR experiencing the difficulty of doing CPR for more than 1 1/2 or 2 minutes. Trevor also demonstrated how to use the common defibrillators found in many public buildings, employers, and even private homes. We learned what to do for drowning and choking victims including CPR. It was valuable information and skills that may save a life.
